5 Ways to Make your CBD Oil Taste Better
Taking cannabidiol (CBD) under the tongue is one of the most popular ways of taking CBD oil at the moment. People love to take their CBD this way as it is easy, convenient, quick to administer, quick to come into effect, discreet and easy to dose. One thing that it isn’t for most people, however, is delicious.
In fact, the taste of CBD oil drops is one of the biggest complaints that people have about CBD oil. CBD users describe the taste as ‘bitter’, ‘earthy’ or ‘grassy’, and one which, frankly, can put many people off.
There are, of course many other types of CBD products available for sale, but for some people, taking their CBD under the tongue is the best way for them – even if they don’t like the taste.
Fortunately, there are some ways that it is possible to make your sublingual CBD taste better, improving the overall CBD experience for you.
1. Have a drink ready
One of the most common and best ways to deal with the taste of CBD is to have a drink ready to have after you have taken your CBD. Although this won’t affect the taste while the CBD oil is in your mouth (usually for up to 2 minutes whilst it is held under the tongue), a drink afterwards can help to take the taste away.
You can try water, or some people find that a flavoured drink works better. Likewise, you could also try eating something small. Some people like to eat a mint after taking their CBD oil – or even pop it under the tongue at the same time as the CBD oil. You could also try a square of chocolate under the tongue at the same time or honey. Food and drink shouldn’t affect the CBD so there is no knock-on effect from this technique.
2. Flavoured CBD Oil
CBD producers are only too aware of the taste of CBD oil, and so have started to produce flavoured oils. With a few years of development under their belts, flavoured CBD sublingual oils are improving. CBD Products like this are designed for new and experienced users alike, are easy to use and help to support and maintain your bodies endocannabinoid system.
There is now a range of flavours available, meaning that you can experiment to find out which one you like the most.
Flavoured CBD oils are used in exactly the same way as the non-flavoured versions – in fact, the only difference is in the actual delivery experience. These are usually found in drops or a spray.
3. Brush your teeth beforehand
If you have ever tried drinking orange juice right after brushing your teeth you will know what an unpleasant experience that is. But this one won’t be so bad, we promise you!
The reason why orange juice tastes awful after brushing your teeth is that when you brush your teeth, the toothpaste foams up – due to a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). This chemical hides sweetness, and would, therefore, make the orange juice taste horribly bitter.
If you apply this to CBD oil, virtually all of its taste is taken away, giving you a much better experience.
You can also use this technique to develop a CBD routine – taking it twice a day just after brushing your teeth, for example.
4. Try CBD gummies
One of the more popular types of CBD products available in the UK are CBD gummies which offers consumers a fun and tasty method of ingesting CBD on the go.
5. Hold your nose
We’ve all suffered the awful experience of not being able to taste anything when we have a cold. Well, this works on the same principle. Your nose and your taste buds are very closely linked, and your nose working properly is integral to being able to taste properly.
When your nose is blocked, it can block the taste buds and so by holding your nose whilst the CBD is under your tongue, you can help to block out its taste.
Taking CBD oil doesn’t need to be an unpleasant experience – whether it is by using a specially formulated, flavoured CBD oil or covering up its flavour yourself, so why not try out some of these ideas to discover what works best for you?
